V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls
V-Day functions by encouraging people to get together once a year and host a "V-Day" - on or around the 14th February
The V-Day foundation provides the scripts and materials for the plays and other events – royalty-free throughout Feb and March
You find a venue, sell your tickets and give the proceeds to local charities working to end violence against women and girls
V-Day London will produce 3 performances apiece of The Vagina Monologues and A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer at The New Players Theatre in Charing Cross, London from the 17th to the 21st February 2009
This year V-Day London are proud to support The Helen Bamber Foundation (for women survivors of UK prostitution trafficking), Tender (school based arts interventions to reduce domestic violence) and the V-Day spotlight charity – funding a safe house for women survivors of the Congo atrocities.
V-Day London is currently Annie Saunders and Emma Jane Richards and an energetic and enthusiastic team of volunteers. We are holding auditions on the 23rd November 2008 and we are looking for performers - please email: audition AT vdaylondon.com
If you think you would like to get involved in any other way or have any questions please email us at: info AT vdaylondon.com
